Anna-Lise is an Associateand a member of the Banking and Asset Finance Team within the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group. She specialises in the formation and structuring of investment funds, including corporate hedge funds and limited partnerships. She also handles the formation of private equity funds. Anna-Lise’s practice extends to general corporate law matters, including corporate restructuring. She also has experience in connection with the listing of securities on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.
Anna-Lise acts for investment banks and investment managers with respect to the establishment of investment funds and advises fund directors and other functionaries in connection with ongoing licensing, regulatory and corporate governance issues in relation to these entities.
Anna-Lise joined Appleby in 2007 from another law firm in the Cayman Islands. Prior to that, she worked as a corporate lawyer in the British Virgin Islands, advising a broad client base of financial institutions, trust companies, law firms and investment advisors.
Anna-Lise graduated from the University of the West Indies in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French/Spanish (First Class Hons) and was awarded her Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from the University of the West Indies in 1997. She obtained her Legal Education Certificate from Norman Manley Law School in 1999 and a Master of Laws Degree (Merit) with a specialisation in corporate and securities law from University College London in 2004.
Anna-Lise is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society, and has a thorough working knowledge of French and Spanish.
